Plus500 Brumbies Launch 15 for 15 Initiative

The Plus500 Brumbies are pleased to announce their charity initiative for their match against the Sunwolves at GIO Stadium on Sunday 3 June 2018 – 15 for 15.

For the afternoon Super Rugby fixture with the Sunwolves we ask that you come out as a show of support for your team, your city and your region, and three charities which make a real difference to our community.

“We have the aim of getting 15,000 fans to the ground and we will donate $15,000 to three very deserving charities,” CEO Michael Thomson commented.

“We recognise this is a challenge and to succeed we need your support, and we ask you to encourage your friends and families to do the same.’

“The Plus500 Brumbies are a community club and we always look to support organisations which support our region.  We are hoping that all of Canberra and Southern NSW get behind this initiative and come out to our afternoon game on 3 June.

“We want to thank you for being part of the Brumbies family, your support is vital to us, and the game.”

Lifeline Canberra, OzHarvest and Give Me Five for Kids are the trio of charities that have been selected to be gifted $5,000 from the Plus500 Brumbies through this initiative.

“Whenever anyone talks about the best part of living in Canberra, it’s always about our great sports teams like the Brumbies, but also our city’s amazing community spirit,” Alison Drower, Content Director Southern Cross Austereo said.

“The 15 for 15 event is the perfect chance for Canberra families to enjoy some top footy up close, and kick a goal for Give Me Five for Kids and the Canberra Hospital.”

Dave Burnet, ACT Territory Manager for OzHarvest was equally as enthusiastic about the proposed initiative.

“Our team are proud to stand with the Plus500 Brumbies in this call to action,” Mr. Burnet said. “The Brumbies have stood by the Canberra community rain hail or shine, and now it's time for Canberrans to return the favour”.

As well as being world class rugby players, the Plus500 Brumbies are a conscientious group of players with a real connection to the Canberra and Southern New South Wales community.

‘’I know the boys are looking forward to their next home game on Sunday 3 June and hoping that Canberra and the surrounding region will come out to support them and this charity initiative,” Brumbies hooker Josh Mann-Rea said.

“It would be great to see as many families and fans at the afternoon game against the Sunwolves.  15 for 15 is a great initiative to support our region, local charities and getting behind the boys.’’

The day is anticipated to be a great day out for Canberra and surrounding regions, as not only can you support three local charities by being at the game, there is a great line-up of activity including the ACT Primary School Championship as the pre-match entertainment, the Junior Club March Past at Half Time and the popular Fans on the Field at full time.
